Abortion, it's NOT controversial or political or a religious issue

In America, we keep having this argument on wether abortion is right or wrong, on wether it follows certain religions, and on wether politics should be able to make laws or regulations on it. The answer is simply, NO. Men, politicians, and even doctors do NOT have the right to tell a woman what she can and cannot do for the sake of her body and her life, wether her partner or state or religion agrees or not.

But what about the baby? It's a human life. Right?

No, not really. A baby cannot live outside of its mother's body until over the 20 week mark. 22 weeks has been the earliest a premature baby has been able to survive, so far. This may change as medical situations become better. At six weeks, it does have a heartbeat. And that has been a major argument about this. However, nothing else is correctly formed. And again, it cannot survive without the mother's body at that point. The other argument is that at 9 weeks, they have fingerprints. Do you know where fingerprints come from? The mother's womb. This is why identical twins don't have the same fingerprints. Therefore, neither of those arguments are valid.

America has some of the worst healthcare for mothers and babies, with some of the highest mortality (death) rates. This is worse in the South than the rest of the country, of course. The same places trying to ban abortions have the highest rates of mother and baby mortality, and the highest rates of rape cases as well. Go figure...

Now, let's talk about why women get abortions. Why do women get abortions? Studies show these reasons:

-Not ready for a child (Probably wouldn't be great parents at this point)

-Can't afford a child (Would have a hard time giving the child what it needs)

-Too old / Have completed childbearing (Would likely have health issues)

- Single / Relationship issues (Would have a difficult time parenting)

- Too young (Obvious situation here)

- Would interfere with career (Again, would struggle with parenting)

- Mother has health issues (Obvious reasons)

- Fetus has health issues (Obvious reasons)

- Conceived by rape (Obvious reasons)

- Partner wants me to (Bad dads = Kids have a hard time)

- Other (As in, they were likely abused by their partner or raped and don't want to tell)

Most of these abortions were done less that 8 weeks along, so basically right when they found out they were pregnant. Despite popular belief by men, it is extremely rare for a woman to find out she's pregnant before 6 weeks. 6 weeks is right after she would miss her period (but can spot with implantation bleeding or reproductive conditions) and MIGHT get a positive test. A few were done up to 15 weeks. Only 1% were around 20 weeks, and those would only be the fetus wouldn't survive anyway, so it was medically necessary.

So what about adoption?

What about it? Do you know how many children are in foster care? Do you know how many children never get adopted? Have you adopted a child? We have enough homeless children in this world. So, again, that argument is invalid.

And beyond that, why should a woman alter her entire body, alter her hormones, go through severe amounts of pain for 9 months (sometimes 10) to then put a baby up for adoption, where they may not get the life they deserve either way?

Putting your baby up for adoption is a very difficult and noble thing to do, and nobody should feel bad for doing so.

However, it's unfair to force the pain of childbearing and birth on a mother if she's early enough in her pregnancy to get an abortion. Fetuses don't have all the pain sensors, nerves, or brain activity at the time of abortion, to know what's going on or feel any pain. If you look at a human fetus, it looks like the fetus of every other mammal. You would not be able to tell them apart.

Beyond all that, let's talk about child mothers. The youngest mother WAS FIVE YEARS OLD. She was pregnant while literally being a toddler. She was a baby herself. Literally a baby. If you have not, go watch videos of women giving birth. Look at what happens to their body. Now think about CHILDREN going through that. It happens, every day. Making abortion illegal affects children. Those children who survive childbirth are both extremely lucky and extremely traumatized. Their bodies will never be the same, never fully work right. Many children don't survive giving birth, as you can imagine. Many grown women don't survive giving birth, even if they've had no known prior health complications. Giving birth is an extremely difficult thing on the human body.

I had my first at 18, got pregnant at the end of 17. I tore, a lot. When I was pregnant, my daughter cracked a few of my ribs from inside me. The doctors couldn't do anything about it. And while pregnant, you can't be on actual pain meds. I had severe heartburn, I was throwing up. I was sick. I was dizzy often, as I have chronic illnesses. But even women who don't have chronic illnesses typically are sick at some point during pregnancy. Go birth. It was the most painful thing I endured. It was terrible. Healing wasn't any better. I had stitches. I cried every time I even went to go pee. Years later, the doctors realized my daughter shifted my entire pelvic and hip bones. I have back pain, hip pain, and pain during intimate times. I'm supposed to be seeing a pelvic physical therapist, every week. It's $100 per session. Obviously, I haven't been able to go. I can't afford that on top of all my children's and my own other medical bills.

Women literally go through torture during pregnancy and childbirth. In fact, the United Nations commissioner for human rights declared banning abortion as human torture. It is literally, legally, and physical torture. (So for those of you pathetic men who compare it to getting kicked in the balls, get over yourselves. Childbearing and childbirth is ACTUAL TORTURE. Getting kicked in the balls is nothing even remotely compared.) It is also legally against children's rights, being many children get pregnant. Many of those pregnancies are via rape.

"The US policy on abortion is a form of extremist hate that amounts to the torture of women, the UN deputy high commissioner for human rights told the Guardian.

The attack on women’s rights was a “crisis”, organized and well-resourced by very extremist groups.... It’s clear it’s torture – it’s a deprivation of a right to health,” they warned."

Now, the "it's against my religion" argument. No, it's not. There is abortion in the Bible. If a man thought his wife cheated, they would give her an abortion.

Numbers 5:21: “may the Lord cause you to become a curse among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell. 22 May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.”

What is that? LITERAL ABORTION IN THE BIBLE.

Forcing birth is rape. You are forcing violation in the same way forcing sexual intercourse does. Forcing a woman (or child) to give birth is physically raping them, and also torturing them.

Should a man have the right to decide what happens to his child? No. It's not his child until it's born. It's simply part of the mother's body until it's born. Period. Men don't carry the baby, don't go through childbirth. They have zero rights to then have an opinion on it. It may have his DNA, but the baby isn't a baby until it's born, it won't have a full body during time of abortion. So, no, he doesn't get that opinion. It's not his body. Men also don't know what the mother of their baby is going through or how her health is. It's too easy for men to say "keep it" when they have no idea what can happen to the mother. If it were men going through childbearing and childbirth, women wouldn't have the right to an opinion. And therefore, men don't have the right to an opinion on it. Once the child is born, they have a right to some say, if they do have rights to the child. Until then, it's not any of their right.

So, that's it. There's no excuse, no opinion you're allowed to have if you don't have a uterus. Educate yourself and keep your creepy rapey opinions away from out uterus'.
